Today we sit down and chat with our newest Graphic Designer Jo! In this Q&A we talk about different tips and tricks, and what life as a Graphic Designer in fashion looks like. When Jo isn't sipping out of her Kris Jenner Mug she's creating all the epic graphics you guys get to see, trust me a-lot goes on behind the scenes! 

What do you do? What does a normal day look like?

As the graphic designer, I contribute to the overall look and the way the brand is portrayed visually. I try to make sure everything is aesthetically pleasing and in line with the brand identity. Typical daily tasks include designing EDMs, social graphics, as well as anything that might crop up such as PR cards, video graphics and photo retouching.

Tell us about your background and how you got here

While I was at uni, I had internships at a magazine and a fashion brand. After university I spent a few years working on weekly magazines. I’ve always been drawn towards the fashion and lifestyle space and I feel it’s been a natural graduation towards fashion and ecommerce. 

How did you score a job in the fashion industry? Any tips? Internships etc 

Internships are the way to go. They’re a great way to meet people in your industry and gather experience along the way.

What is your favourite part about your job? 

Being creative and being surrounded by like-minded people who inspire you everyday. 

If you had to pick one piece of clothing that best describes you, what would you pick?

Perfect, fitting jeans. I’m eternally on the hunt. They’re something I wear everyday and are always a classic piece. 

What is your number one styling tip?

Be comfortable. Find a style that suits you and try and make conscious buying decisions.
