Hello Mani!

It’s colder than Anna Wintour right now! And while the chill might impact your beach plans, it's the perfect excuse to curl up inside and dedicate time applying intricate nail art! So let's all paint our piggies in super fun shades and designs so that our hands good enough to eat! Here are our fave Winter nailspos today…

Dripping chocolate

How to: Alternate painting each nail a different pastel shade, and then apply a matte top coat. Let it dry, then, using a nail art brush and brown acryllic paint, delicately stencil the outline of the dripped chocolate first, then fill it in. Add some shading at the edges of your “chocolate” with a lighter brown and blend with water. Let dry. For the sprinkles, wash the nail art brush and reuse it then with multicouloured acrylic paint. Being very careful, gently dot the sprinkles with topcoat. Then apply top coat all over. Voila!

Acid wash

For the bottom coat, apply two layers of a midnight blue lacquer – or any dark colour that takes your fancy, really. Let that dry, and then paint one coat of white on top. With a Q-tip, rub nail polish remover over the top layer of paint until sparse sections of blue begin to show through. Once you’ve achieved the desired effect, let it set and then finish with a top coat.

Gradient pastels

These pastel, ombre nails are easier than they appear - all you need are the colours and a make-up sponge. Paint the nail lacquer directly onto the make-up sponge and then dab it onto the nail. Let the base colour dry before applying the ascending hue. Keep alternating colours until you get the desired look.

 Muted rainbow

Prep your nail, apply a base coat and then two coats on each nail of the alternating colours! It's muted enough for work and neutral enough to go with most outfits!

 Queen dimension

After cleaning and prepping the nail, paint two full coats of metallic gold. When that’s dry, paste a piece of stcky tape – cut into the desired shape – down the centre of the nail. Paint the taped nail, and then gently peel off the stick tape so you have a gold line down the centre. Touch up gently if this takes any of the undercoat with it. Apply topcoat to seal!

French plum

This one you can do freehand! Apply a base coat, then top with two coats of the lighter hue. When that's dry, paint a "smile" line on the tip of your nail. If you have trouble, try using sticky tape on the bottom 3/4 of the nail to keep your lines neat. Seal with top coat.
