HELLO MOLLY Hits The Streets For Fashion Week

Time to brush-up your designer trivia gals. Mercerdes Benz Fashion Week Australia is in full swing!

Running this week from the 12th - 18th of May, Sydney's most anticipated fashion event are showcasing long-awaited collections from Australia's top designers with leading influencers flock to the many open-to-the-public events.

However, the rising trends weren't just on the models of leading high-end designers. The girls of HELLO MOLLY turned to the curbside to display the brand's new selection of streetwear, shoes and accessories.

What's Trending

Tweeds N' Checks

The more vintage-looking, the better. A favourite for winter desk-to-dinner rotations, the Queen's traditional old English tweed gets a revamp with elevated hardware, modern tailoring and unusually cut pieces layered underneath. Branded lifestyle sneakers lend an appeal that emulates the contemporary 'go-gettem' woman of today.

Cosy Sweats

With winter fast approaching, HELLO MOLLY turns to comfy oversized knits, sweats and jumpers paired with even more relaxed bottoms to create a street-ready look that screams effortless. Pairing a practical piece with more figure-flattering and feminine cuts is an emerging style that's becoming a favourite style for women of all ages.

Pleat Me Up Buttercup

We are living for repeats and texture this year. Add some rigid knife pleats or tiered, flouncing ruffles to a midi skirt, and you'll add that extra 'oomph' and dimension to your curb-side outfit in a heartbeat. Wear a pleated midi skirt with an oversized fluffy knit top for an element of structure. Or, try layering a plain cami with a ruffled partner.

Meet Me In The Midi

Not too short, not too long. Midi length skirts and dresses have cemented themselves as the perfect middle ground for workwear rotations, weekend attire or a glamorous night out. Side note -  HELLO MOLLY gives leading runway events a run for their money with their incorporation of the colour red on the lips and toes. Inject a flash of red into a selection of sleek silhouettes, subdued pastel tones or an all-black attire for a maximum effect.

Pretty Pastels

Oh, so pretty pastels are ruling the runways this fashion week. From dusty pinks, sands, beiges, tans and blushes, subdued hues remain a popular spring/summer comeback for womenswear.

Floral Fancies

Darkened florals with darker accessories is a must-have this fashion week. A stark contrast to the subtle and whimsical palettes of the yester-years, vivid and more graphic floral motifs atop of modern and structured silhouettes provide women with a more exciting alternative to feminine street-style dressing. Style yours with mismatching emblazoned hair accessories for a juxtaposing finish. Â
