ELETTE CLASS: Featuring @jenniferwebb_

From the science lab to the skate park, we recognise Jennifer! This March for International Women’s Day we celebrate and acknowledge the women who follow their active dreams no matter the circumstances.  #elettefit #IWD2021 #choosetochallenge

At Hello Molly, we are celebrating the achievements of four inspiring women who are forging their way in their passions and active areas of their life!  In living their dual lives to obtain their passion, these women emphasise the importance of prioritising their hobbies as this is the key to happiness in their lives! From the lab to the skate park, meet our first inspiring women Jennifer, a Sydney based roller skater by night and scientist by day.
Today we capture the beauty of Jennifer’s passion for roller skating, through her strong sense of control and ambition within the active field. Picking up a new sport and hobby can be challenging, but Jennifer shows us how women can do whatever they want as long as they want it! We learn quickly that since Jennifer pursued this sport she felt instantly refreshed and tranquil as if this was her secretly calling.
In most instances, women suffer from the pressure of working within a male-dominated workplace, however, some like Jennifer ignore the societal expectation and instead hang up her lab coat at the end of the day and get straight to the skate park. In connection with International Women’s Day, we love to appreciate and recognise these inspiring women.
As we chat with Jennifer, she says how this hobby stemmed from a young age, without knowing.“When I was a kid I had a Barbie roller skate set, I used to love those and then recently I saw a lot more people on Instagram rollerskating and I was like, sure I'll give that a god and ever since I just fell in love”.
When the passion started over an initial spark through Instagram, Jennifer then was quick to tell us how her hard work and dedication that was all happening behind the scenes, was purely controlled by her strong passion. Roller skating definitely was not learnt overnight, and with the persistence mindset to just keep pushing, Jennifer has perfected it! “I have been doing it for 8 months now and I practise 6 days a week and it’s important to keep at it but also realise when your body needs a break and give yourself that time”.
Here at Hello Molly, we admire the dedication to pursuing and following your passion no matter the hobby! We appreciate the importance of standing by what makes you happy, and how no matter the societal expectation of a specific sport or workplace is recognised that these women still stand up in what they believe keeps them happy.
Jennifer increases the visibility of girls who skate and are surmounted in a male dominant environment workplace, which challenges and motivates her to master the passion she has had her whole life! As it sometimes can be off putting to try something new or dedicate your time to a sport that may not work out, Jennifer teaches us that you will never know until you try!
Stay tuned to meet the rest of the Elette Class! #elettefit #IWD2021 #choosetochallenge
